Mentoring & Self-Esteem Building
Quality adult mentors work with at-risk youths to help
them build their self-esteem, gain leadership and life
skills, learn about healthy eating, and understand the
importance of the next generation of BIPOC farmers.
Training with BIPOC Farmers
Youths will work along side BIPOC farmers who
participate in MADF’s BIPOC Farmers’ HUB, gaining
knowledge and skills in urban farming methods like
growing microgreens, hydroponics, and aquaponics.
Opportunities in Agriculture
Youths gain technical assistance and business resources
to help them start microenterprise farming businesses,
where they can use their new skills and start growing
and selling their own food.
