Tacoma’s Making a Difference Foundation announced this week that it had awarded scholarships to 15 college-bound students in the community.
“Education opens doors to opportunities that can transform not only individual lives, but entire communities,” said Ahndrea Blue, the MADF’s president and founder, in a release. “Through this scholarship program, we are proud to continue supporting passionate young adults as they pursue their goals and contribute to a better world. We believe that investing in their future is an investment in the future of us all.”
The foundation seeks to empower college-bound students by providing resources such as its $1,500 scholarship, which is geared to assist students help pay for tuition, books, supplies, and boarding.
This year’s awardees were Anthony Brown, Hannah Brogan, Lauryn Davis, Mister Beavers, Austin Adebayo Collins, Alexander Collins, Angeline Cifelli, Augustine Cifelli, Josie Lucien, Adyne Nolan, ZaNae Ware, Alynn Keva Harris Cobbinah, Calyx Leanna Hall, Sarai Hanna Marie Elder, and Aaliyah Boston.
Scholarship eligibility requires U.S. citizenship; demonstration of financial need; and enrollment in an accredited college, school, or university.
