A program for Birth to 25 from
Making A Difference Foundation’s Hope Over Hunger Children’s Program offers a variety of services so that anyone under the age of 25 gets the fresh, nutritious food they need to grow into and maintain a healthy life. The services that are a part of the program include:
- 13 mini fully stocked food pantries within Tacoma, Franklin-Pierce, and Sumner schools
- 11 mini fully stocked food pantries throughout Pierce County
- A food backpack service for homeless youth
- Afterschool & weekend food backpack service
- Snack & literacy program
- Meal kis for children & youth
- Summer lunch delivery program with hot cultural lunches
- Food box delivery to young adults for additional support
- Food boc delivery to families with children under 18
- Baby bank with milk, formula, diapers, baby food, and more
COMMUNITY IMPACT- Funding in action
- We were able to move 500 families with children and young adult households from our delivery waiting list to full delivery service.
- We provided culturally relevant food to 105,680 cildren and youth.
