A program for Birth to 25 from

Making A Difference Foundation’s Hope Over Hunger Children’s Program offers a variety of services so that anyone under the age of 25 gets the fresh, nutritious food they need to grow into and maintain a healthy life. The services that are a part of the program include:

  • 13 mini fully stocked food pantries within Tacoma, Franklin-Pierce, and Sumner schools
  • 11 mini fully stocked food pantries throughout Pierce County
  • A food backpack service for homeless youth
  • Afterschool & weekend food backpack service
  • Snack & literacy program
  • Meal kis for children & youth
  • Summer lunch delivery program with hot cultural lunches
  • Food box delivery to young adults for additional support
  • Food boc delivery to families with children under 18
  • Baby bank with milk, formula, diapers, baby food, and more

COMMUNITY IMPACT- Funding in action

  1. We were able to move 500 families with children and young adult households from our delivery waiting list to full delivery service.
  2. We provided culturally relevant food to 105,680 cildren and youth.
