Job Title: Student Entrepreneur – Rooted Futures Youth Program

Qualifications:

  • Must be between the ages of 16 and 25.

  • Resident of Pierce County
  • Interested in farming
  • Business-minded

Job Overview: The Rooted Futures Program is designed to foster entrepreneurial skills, teach indoor farming techniques, and leadership among young individuals. Participants will receive mentorship, business training, and hands-on experience to develop and launch their own farms. The program encourages innovation and seeks to empower youth to be change-makers in their communities.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Student Engagement:

  • Commit to a 10+ week cohort via online and/or in-person classes.
  • Be open to learning new concepts regarding business and agriculture
  • Maintain respectful and professional relationships with BIPOC farmer mentors and business coaches.
  • Be willing to create an agriculture-based business
  • Foster a positive, learning, inclusive, and empowering environment for yourself and others.

This role is ideal for someone passionate about becoming an entrepreneur and urban farming.
