Thanksgiving dinner fixings gifted to 800 families
The Making A Difference Foundation (MADF) and its Eloise’s Cooking Pot Food Bank held their annual Thanksgiving fixings giveaway on Nov. 17. Offering all the traditional Thanksgiving sides, nothing was required for the food bank’s free drive-thru service. All anyone had to do was to be in line on time and have their vehicle open to get a great selection of foods. By the end of the day, 800 families were served.
Eloise’s Cooking Pot Food Bank continues to serve Tacoma and other Pierce County communities with the generous help of community donors and volunteers. The food bank supplies the area’s most vulnerable individuals and families with needed food and other items five days a week Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both at the on-site location and with home delivery service.
The MADF and its President and Founder, Ahndrea Blue, continue to focus on the mission to make a difference in the lives of others, one person at a time, by helping them acquire the most basic human needs: food, housing, encouragement, and opportunity. As stated by Ms. Blue, “We are honored we get to continue being a part of people’s holidays by providing quality food to those who need it. We are grateful that we get to keep serving our community in such a meaningful way.”
The food bank is now serving 70,000 people every month with 1.5 million pounds of free food. Every Friday the emergency drive-thru service assists 300+.
