Making A Difference Foundation

is all about being a good neighbor and helping others. We care about our community and listen to any and all concerns as it relates to the Eloise’s Cooking Pot Food Bank and our activities. We’re all in this together. If anyone should have a concern, please come to us so it can be resolved. We are always available. Unfortunately, there have been some incidents that have been done to make our work harder and try and drive the food bank out of the community. This includes acts of vandalism that will cost our organization thousands of dollars to fix, complaints to the city, and bullying of staff. We have been firmly established in the Eastside community going on 20 years and we will continue to work with leaders and neighbors to help those in need. We are here to stay and want to work with you! Please call us at 253-212-2778 with any issues you may have.

Acts of Kindness

It’s the holiday season when random acts of kindness are a lot more common. But, what about the rest of the year? MADF believes kindness isn’t about a holiday or only to be done during certain times. We work to encourage kindness in all its forms every day and we challenge everyone to do a simple act daily. Daily acts of kindness don’t have to be big and can be as simple as offering a compliment, holding a door, helping a neighbor carry their groceries, and even just a smile and hello. See someone commit an act of kindness? Receive an act of kindness? Let us know by posting on our dedicated Facebook page at: https://www.facebook.com/RAKTeamMADF/

Life is like a mirror. Smile at it and it smiles back at you.

Goodbye 2022 and what’s new for 2023

Throughout 2022, we diligently worked on our capital campaign to raise the needed funds to remodel the new Eloise’s Cooking Pot Food Bank building. We are happy to say we have raised just over half (55%) of our $1.125 million goal. We’ve had many generous funders help us, including Washington Dept. of Agriculture, MJ Murdock Charitable Trust, Tote Maritime, Muckleshoot Tribe, Forest Foundation, BNSF Railway, FOA Cares, Skookum Community Support, Puget Sound Energy Foundation, and Suquamish Tribe. We want to thank all who have helped fund this project! Once completed, it will make a huge difference in our efficiency and ability to help as many people with food as possible. The food bank is serving 60,000 people with 1.5 million pounds of food each month. We hope to have the new food bank free grocery store open and operating by mid-year and see it as a future community gathering place where neighbors and people from all walks of life can not only come for food assistance, but to support each other and gather among friends. If you would like to donate to this project, please feel free to contact us at 253-212-2778.
