Our garden

Our food bank garden is in partnership with Tahoma Urban Agriculture Guild with the mission to food security, food justice and sustainable livelihood in metro regions. We have joined the “Grow it Forward” project to make healthy organic food more available to the families in our communities needing it most. Our garden is located on TraVon and Railroad in Tacoma, Washington. This project was developed to provide a stable, internal source of fresh food and herbs for our clients.

It is managed by volunteers. These volunteers prepare the land for cultivation, plant seeds, weed the fields, and harvest the food throughout the growing season. Once the food is harvested, it is immediately available for our clients. The clients receiving this food are being provided with a source of fresh, organic produce, which is nutrient-rich and locally grown.
