The MADF believes that education is the greatest equalizer.

Edgar Leon Gray was a longtime volunteer with Making A Difference Foundation and served as MADF’s chaplain, providing our staff, clients, and veterans with guidance and encouragement in addition to serving as MADF’s board chairman.

Making A Difference Foundation is proud to honor the legacy of Elder Edgar L. Gray with a $10,000 scholarship.

Award

Individual students selected by The MADF Scholarship Selection Committee will be awarded up to a $1,500 scholarship to apply towards college educational expenses. Past scholarship awardees can apply annually up to a maximum of 4 years.

Eligibility

  • Scholarship applicant must be a U.S. citizen

  • Applicant must be a resident of Pierce or King County in Washington state.

  • Must demonstrate a financial need.

  • Applicant must be enrolled in an accredited school, university or college pursuing a degree in Pastor Leadership, Pastor Counselor, and Mission Service

  • Award must be used for educational expenses which include cost of tuition, books, supplies, room and/or board.

  • Employees including Board Members and their immediate family are not eligible.

Application Process

Applicant must submit:

  1. A completed application form
  2. Completion of scholarship questions
  3. A current headshot photo that captures:
    1. Professional image
    2. Appropriate attire
    3. Shoulders and head up
    4. Good lighting to distinguish features
  4. Official grade transcript
