Making A Difference Foundation (MADF) of Tacoma announces its 2023 scholarship awards to 10 students attending college throughout the nation.
“For more than 20 years, Making A Difference Foundation has been committed to helping college-bound students gain the resources they need to make positive changes in their lives and in the community,” said Ahndrea Blue, MADF’s President and Founder. “I have always believed that education is the greatest equalizer and force for change. This scholarship program continues to support dedicated young adults to achieve their dreams while also making a difference in the world.”
MADF makes a difference in education by giving scholarships annually to individuals who are furthering their education. The organization also partners with schools, non-profits, churches, and other programs by making financial contributions to their educational programs. Scholarships are selected by the MADF Scholarship Selection Committee, and awards are made in the amount of $1,500 to individual students to apply toward college education expenses, including the cost of tuition, books, supplies, room and board.
The 2023 scholarship awardees are:
- Sagal Aden – pursuing a bachelor’s degree with a major in public health and health education
- Davien Harris-Williams – pursuing a bachelor’s degree with a major in sports management
- Ryan Holmes – pursuing a bachelor’s degree with a major in business administration
- Ethan Yockey — pursuing a bachelor’s degree with a major in interdisciplinary studies with a concentration on environmental studies
- Genesis Harris – pursuing a bachelor’s degree with a major in biology
- Augustine Cifelli – pursuing a bachelor’s degree in international business
- Jasmine Turner – pursuing a bachelor’s degree in public health
- Anthony Brown – pursuing a bachelor’s degree with a major in applied health and fitness
- Mister Beavers – pursuing a bachelor’s degree with a major in business
- Josie Lucien – pursuing a bachelor’s degree with a major in computer science and health informatics

Eligibility requirements include being a U.S. citizen, demonstrating a financial need, and being enrolled in an accredited college, school, or university.
