The Making A Difference Foundation (MADF) announces the Eloise’s Cooking Pot (ECP) Food Bank in Tacoma will be providing Thanksgiving meals to families with children as well as groceries that will cover the whole Thanksgiving break from school – so no child goes hungry while not in school.

Oftentimes, families who struggle to put nutritious meals on the table cannot provide healthy food and snacks for their children when they are not in school. Sometimes, the only healthy food kids receive comes from the lunches they have during school hours. In Pierce County alone, there are 37,520 food-insecure children, which is a food insecurity rate of 18.6% (Feeding America, 2017). To help combat childhood and family hunger in our community, the ECP Food Bank will provide families with groceries that will give them a full Thanksgiving meal and get them through the five-day period before children return to school.

Eloise’s Cooking Pot continues to serve Tacoma and other Pierce County communities with needed food and other items six days a week during varied hours at the on-site location and with home delivery service. Visit MADF’s website at www.themadf.org for more information and hours of operation.
